TD Banknorth Garden Information

TD Banknorth Garden opened in 1995 as a $160 million facility. Since that time, over 20 million spectators have packed the facility to see the NBA's Boston Celtics and the NHL's Boston Bruins. In addition, many of the greatest names in music have performed here, along with various other sporting events, family shows, ice competitions and wrestling.

The TD Banknorth Garden is a state of the art, 19,600 seat facility that's full of fan amenities, including 104 executive suites, 2,400 club seats and a multi-million dollar video scoreboard. The venue's astounding design combined with Boston's historic appeal have attracted many national events, including the 1996 NHL All-Star Game, 1998 Wrestlemania, the 1996 and 2000 US Gymnastics Trials, the NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Championship in 1998, the 1999 and 2003 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball first and second rounds and the 2001 US Figure Skating Championships. In 2004, the TD Banknorth Garden was the proud host of the NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Championship. Later that same year, the facility hosted it's largest event to date with the presence of the 2004 Democratic National Convention.

With so much diversity, TD Banknorth Garden is a facility that is accommodating to a variety of events. Some of music's top performers have played here, including The Eagles, Justin Timberlake, Alan Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Christina Aguilera, The Dixie Chicks, Tom Petty and others. TD Banknorth Garden has been recognized among the top arenas in the country by various publications, including 'Venues Today' ranking the facility as the 3rd best in the America for 2003.

Hosting over 200 events each year, TD Banknorth Garden welcomes more than 3.5 spectators annually. This privately financed and owned facility is operated by Delaware North Companies, Inc. - Boston. It's fan friendly, yet modern, design was made possible by Ellerbe Beckett, Inc. and Morse Diesel International. Encompassing 755,000 square feet and 3.2 acres, TD Banknorth Garden stands 10 stories high and features 8,100 tons of steel. There are 36 permanent concession stands with plenty of dining options for everyone. In addition, the seating capacity is equally accommodating. Over 17,000 hockey fans and more than 18,000 basketball fans can pack the house for their favorite event.

In 2005, TD Banknorth Garden celebrated it's 10th anniversary. Located in Boston, Massachusetts, this multi-purpose facility is a thriving part of Boston's community. Since opening in 1995, TD Banknorth Garden has remained a powerhouse among sports and entertainment venues nationwide.
